Embroidered Jewellery Design Portfolio.

In the interim between finishing my graduate placement and starting my MA, I decided to develop my own brand ‘Liss Cooke Textile Design’; designing and making unique digitally embroidered jewellery designs. I was lucky enough, during this time, to gain a sponsorship from Wilcom Embroidery Studios, providing me with the incredible digital embroidery software that I required to generate my designs. Once embroidered, I added my signature touch of hand embroidery to the pieces using applique and embellishment techniques. The styles mostly consisted of necklaces, earrings and pin badges which can be seen below.

The aesthetic of my brand links closely to my BA final major project work, but with an overall more commercial look and with much more wearability - whilst still being just as colourful and playful as ever. I really hope to return to the development of my brand in the future!

I achieved a lot of success during this short time, exhibiting and selling my work at The handmade Nottingham Fair, Crafty Fox Markets and The Kirstie Allsopp Handmade Fair at Hampton Court palace which is a huge event.

I also had my work featured in some brilliant publications such as Mollie Makes craft magazine and with Selvedge online. During this period of selling my wears my stockists included; The Handmade Nottingham Shop, The Sneinton Market Shop, The National Centre for Craft and Design, and with Online lifestyle brand Secrets of Green, as well as selling through my own website. I also won the Nottingham Young Creative Award, within the fashion and textiles category for my entry of one of my largest, most elaborate style.

My hope is that in the future I will have the opportunity to continue growing my brand and develop a new collection.
