Embroiderers Guild - 2023
30 Years of the Graduate & Scholar Showcase Feature.
Back in 2016, I was selected at New Designers to take part in the Embroiderers Guild Graduate Showcase.
Each year, this takes place at Alexandra Palace during the Knitting & Stitching Show, where selected graduates specialising in embroidery, have the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience.
In 2023, I was asked to be a part of the 30 year anniversary Celebrations of the showcase. A selected group of ex-graduates and scholars from across the 30 year span of the showcase, were reselected to show their work once more and feature in a special publication, celebrating the milestone.
Young Creative Award 2018
In 2018, I entered the Nottingham Young Creative Awards for the Fashion and Textiles Category, submitting a body of work showing my design process in creating innovative embroidered jewellery. My submission culminated in the creation of a large statement necklace made from multiple fabrics, embroidered motifs and embellishment techniques.
I went on to win the competition for my category! Since winning and becoming a YCA alumni, I have developed a strong relationship with the charity working with them on multiple projects (including a lockdown embroidery club), speaking at events and Judging the awards myself for the fashion & textiles category.
I have developed a stronger partnership with The YCA in 2022, by initiating ‘The Hand & Lock award for creative embroidery’ through my current post as Senior Digital Embroidery designer at H&L. We offered a special award to 1 finalist, giving them the opportunity for an experience day at Hand & Lock including a tour of our historic studio, portfolio review & specialist industry training. Caitlin Rodriguez was the lucky winner in the first year of this award for her incredible headwear creation @sewdelarosa

I have been selected twice to have my work displayed at the renowned UK graduate textile show, New Designers- held in the famous Business Design Centre in Islington, London.
I have showcased both my BA and MA graduate collections.
