HPL in Textile & Fashion Design
From September-December 2020, I completed an exciting stint as a Part-time Lecturer in Textile & Fashion Design at the University of East London, alongside a brilliant team of creatives and practitioners. This role builds on my previous short-term experiences delivering talks and workshops but has expanded my skill set in the preparation & delivery of academic lectures, practical textile workshops & engaging online sessions; all under the umbrella of an exciting and diverse module, which I have assisted in building.

Employment History
After completing my BA degree in Textile Design in 2016, I landed my first job with Nottingham based swatch studio Acorn Conceptual Textiles as a Graduate Textile Designer. I developed my skills as a technically proficient hand embroiderer/ embellisher whilst also creating digitally machine embroidered swatches with Ethos embroidery software. In this post, I also developed my skills in creating tech packs for overseas design creation.
My roles in the design Industry previous to this, have included internships and freelance work with various small brands and textile design swatch studios. During my BA degree, I interned at Liz Nehdi Studio in Notting Hill, assisting with collection development and print creation and with Mary Jones Design in Staffordshire as a studio assistant. I also produced some freelance work during my BA for NYC based print studio Nikki Martinkovic.
